Karen is the Manager of Talent Acquisition at Southwest Airlines. She leads Corporate Recruiting for full-time hiring as well as their Contingent Staffing program.
Karen has been at Southwest Airlines for the past 18 years and has served in both Operational and Corporate roles. Over the past 8 years Karen has worked on building out the contingent program which includes; internal management, self-sourcing initiatives, and creating a total talent organization.

Cynthia Moore manages Allstate’s $130+ million contingent labor program Allstate’s program, recently rebranded as the Spare Hands Network is supplier diversity award winning contingent labor program.  Since arriving at Allstate in 2016, Cynthia has been responsible for driving supplier optimization, driving a new MSP strategy, implementation of Fieldglass multi-MSP functionality, Fieldglass SOW and integration of multiple systems with Fieldglass . During her tenure at Allstate she has worked to further increase diversity spend within the program from 26% to 55% as of Q1 2019.  In 2018, she finalized two RFP’s to select new suppliers for Call Center, Admin/Clerical & Light Industrial as well as Payrolling, IC Compliance and management of Allstate’s retiree program.  With her recently expanded team, Cynthia is now responsible for contingent labor/external workforce across the enterprise, operation of the Fieldglass system and put together the Allstate contingent labor enterprise strategy.

Prior to Allstate Cynthia spent six months creating Discover’s Supplier Diversity program, ran and completed multiple LEAN initiatives and managed Risk and Controls in Global Procurement. She originally joined Discover as the Sr. Manager for Professional Services Management in 2007. In that role her responsibilities included managing a team responsible for all offshoring, consulting, staff augmentation vendor and engagement relationships. Successes included the implementation of a contractor tenure policy and overall program to mitigate co-employment risks across the organization, development of a non-employee policy to drive awareness of how resources should be leveraged, and centralization of all non-employee resources in the VMS tool which helped not only in identifying resources but identified savings opportunities and reduced risk as well as on boarding time by 80%.

Before Discover she was the Team Lead for Alternative Workforce at TransUnion where she was responsible for establishing Centralized Vendor Management at TransUnion LLC. She was instrumental in the selection and management of TransUnion’s web based vendor management system.

Prior to joining TransUnion, Cynthia was a successful sales, project and operations manager for a variety of IT consulting environments. As an account manager/area sales manager, Cynthia exceeded revenue and gross profits expectations on numerous occasions and received several sales awards for her efforts.

Lastly, Cynthia is co-founder and Vice President of a national user group called VMS Professionals. This group was founded in 2001 and continues today. As co-founder, Cynthia works closely with Karen Wilson (co-founder and President) to lead Chapter meetings and create the annual conference.

Karen Wilson is President and CEO of MAKE Corporation, a professional services and staffing company with offices in Chicago and Dallas. Over the course of her career, Karen has established herself at the forefront of contingent workforce management through her thought leadership and staffing services industry involvement.

Karen has been an active member of TechServe Alliance for more than twenty years, completing an eight year engagement on its board of directors in 2012 as chairman. She is proud to be currently serving on the Government Affairs committee.  Karen is also president of the board of directors for VMS Professionals, a national association which is comprised of companies that use contingent workers and has a mission to advance the industry and establish best practices in the acquisition and management of contingent labor. Kyle Petersen is a partner in Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Labor & Employment Department. She is a seasoned labor
and employment attorney with over a decade of experience working with employers to develop business-oriented
solutions and successfully defend and resolve employee lawsuits. Ms. Petersen has a proven record of providing
proactive guidance and a pragmatic approach to mitigate legal risks without sacrificing business objectives. She is
an excellent collaborator and problem solver with the ability to communicate complex subject matter in simple
terms.

As a member of the Firm’s Wage & Hour Litigation practice group, Ms. Petersen devotes a significant portion of
her practice to representing employers across the United States in court litigation and administrative matters
arising under federal and state wage and hour laws, and is a chapter author of the definitive treatise on wage and
hour litigation, Wage & Hour Collective and Class Litigation. Ms. Petersen also provides preventative counseling
and works with employers to minimize their exposure to investigation and litigation under the Fair Labor
Standards Act and state wage and hour laws. In this regard, Ms. Petersen regularly partners with employers to
conduct comprehensive assessments of employee classifications and company policies and procedures for
timekeeping; calculating overtime pay for hours worked and for compensation like tips, bonuses, and
commissions; timekeeping policies and practices, tracking meal and rest breaks; and compliance with other state
wage payment requirements. Ms. Petersen’s experience in this area includes second chairing a lengthy bench
trial, resulting in the denial of overtime claims asserted by multiple plaintiffs against a Fortune 1000 company. The
trial came after defeating plaintiffs’ attempts to certify a class of over one thousand employees.
In addition, Ms. Petersen has successfully represented management against all types of discrimination and
harassment claims, including those asserted under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with
Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Illinois Human
Rights Act, and other state laws. Her experience includes litigation of non-competition agreements and other
restrictive covenants, in addition to the defense of defamation claims under state law. Ms. Petersen also regularly
conducts internal investigations, negotiates and drafts employment and separation agreements, and advises
employers on implementing personnel policies and mitigating risk in employment decisions. In counseling
employers, she focuses not only on instituting legally compliant practices, but also on creating solutions
consistent with management’s business objectives.

Cheryl A. Luce is a Managing Associate in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and a member of the firm’s
Labor & Employment Department and Wage & Hour Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Luce regularly counsels
employers on day-to-day employment matters and represents employers before state and federal courts, the
Department of Labor, the EEOC, and state administrative agencies. She is experienced in wage-and-hour,
discrimination, family and medical leave, accommodation, discipline, discharge, whistleblower, and workplace
investigation issues. Ms. Luce also has experience counseling employers on employee benefits and ERISA
issues.

Ms. Luce’s practice focuses on counseling employers regarding their wage and hour practices and defending
employers against class and collective action claims arising under state wage-and-hour laws and the Fair Labor
Standards Act. She also conducts investigations in response to internal complaints by employees alleging legal
and ethical violations.

Prior to joining Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Ms. Luce was an employment associate at a law firm in Chicago. While in law
school at the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Luce served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Journal
of Gender & Law. Ms. Luce was selected for inclusion each year as an Illinois Rising Star from 2016 through 2019
by Super Lawyers Magazine.

Pat Larsen is Contingent Workforce Program Manager for MillerCoors, a Molson Coors Company. Pat has been in her current role at MillerCoors since November 2018. In this role, Pat is responsible for developing and supporting the strategy, governance, and execution of the contingent workforce program in addition to managing the day-to-day relationship with their Managed Service Provider. Prior to her current role, she spent over 7 years on the Total Rewards team at MillerCoors, with a focus on compensation management. Prior to MillerCoors, Pat worked as a Compensation Consultant for several consulting firms, including RSM McGladrey, Watson Wyatt (now Towers Watson) and Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt). Pat has a bachelor’s degree in business from Illinois State University and an MBA in finance from DePaul University.

Dawn McCartney is the Vice President of Contingent Workforce Strategies (CWS) Council at SIA, leading and overseeing the CWS Council and SIA’s Certification & Training, including the Certified Contingent Workforce Professional (CCWP & SOW) accreditation program, and CW Workshops. Responsible for identifying, developing and implementing cutting-edge research and strategies for the end users of contingent labor, McCartney, who joined SIA in 2012, has been an integral part of the SIA team with ongoing contributions to the rapid development of the CWS Council and in her role advising CWS Council members—amounting to more than $100 billion in contingent spend—in managing their extended workforce programs.
With over 13 years of frontline experience working on both the supplier and buyer sides, her expertise on the buyer side includes contingent workforce policies, procedures and the implementation of contingent workforce programs including VMS and supplier selection, and a previous role as the Global Workforce Manager for McDonald’s Corporation. A highly-regarded industry speaker, Dawn frequently shares insights, thought leadership and best practices across the workforce solutions ecosystem.

Luke has been with Southwest Airlines for over 16 years and currently serves as a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition.  In this role, he leads the Sourcing Team, Campus Reach Team, and a Programs Team that all focus on building talent pipelines for Southwest.  Campus Reach recruits for and manages a nationally recognized college internship program, direct college hires, and influences college curriculum to build skills directly aligned with careers at Southwest.  The Programs Team focuses on talent acquisition strategy, recruitment marketing, military recruiting, and K-12 initiatives.  The K-12 initiatives are designed to engage and inspire students at all levels to consider careers in STEM and aviation and build essential skills in preparation to join the workforce.  The team has launched more than 40 high school internships in ten locations across the country as well as opportunities for 3^rd-8^th grade students to get hands on experience through Aviation Day events.

Luke is a graduate of Texas Tech University and lives in Flower Mound, TX.

Cris Robinson’s background in the contingent workforce space spans over 20 years, starting with a traditional staffing firm managing multiple branches within finance, accounting & administrative division. She then moved over to the MSP space with ProUnlimited overseeing the Symantec account. Cris was instrumental in leading the CW Program & VMS implementation into Japan, Singapore, Australia, UK and Ireland.

In 2014 Cris moved over to LinkedIn, within their internal CW program, to help lead their MSP & VMS global expansion to UK, Ireland and India. Cris was responsible for all aspects of operations including overseeing the MSP, the relationship with the VMS, creating policies, processes, building relationships and enabling talent solutions for the business groups.

Over the last year Cris’s role has evolved more into Contingent Workforce business partner, where she closely partners with HRBPs, Strategic Sourcing and Business leads. She advises the business on how best to leverage contingent solutions and arms the HR partners on cross-functional CW usage and trends.

Cris has been on the board of California Staffing Professionals Silicon Valley Chapter for 10 years. Her goal is to provide continued learning and networking opportunities for individuals within the staffing industry.

When Cris is not working she enjoys volunteering, hiking the many trails in Northern California and spending time with her newborn grandson.

With an IT career spanning 29 years across multiple technical disciplines, Randy Dojutrek has come to a very important conclusion—technology is easy, people and relationships are hard. The modern IT leader must transcend the confines of service delivery to become part psychologist, teacher, negotiator, logistician, organizational engineer, and mediator. “Soft skills” are a misnomer, and navigating people, relationships, and corporate cultures are a key differentiator in an increasingly complex space.
When not pontificating about culture and communication, Randy is the Leader of HCSC’s Application Development Center Strategy Office where he is in charge of, among other things, procurement, workforce development, and has recently been designated as a Learning Champion for HCSC’s new Blue University. He has been married 29 years to the ever-tolerant Mary and is currently in the process of scarring-for-life his three children, Ben (20), Wyatt (18), and Eliot (16).

Lori Smith has been an integral member of the Digital Strategy & Planning team in Kellogg IT for 8 years, playing a key role in managing the Kellogg IT strategic partners for the last 3 years. In addition, she has been the lead of the IT Flexible Staffing Program for the Kellogg IT program since its inception in 2017. As part of the Kellogg digital transformation, she manages this pivotal component of the “People Advantage” in the global Deploy for Growth strategy. Lori oversees the governance, execution and maturity of the program while managing the relationship with the IT Managed Service Provider for contingent workers. She is helping position Kellogg for success with workforce of the future through the newly launched OnDemand labor work channel. Lori has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Elmhurst College and an MISM from Keller Graduate School of Business with a concentration in Security.

Tammy Smith has been with AGCO for 3.5 years and during this time she has sold the need for a contingent workforce program and implemented the US program and the EME IT program. The European implementation will be her first self-managed program and will cover 6 countries and 4 currencies. At her former employer, she implemented a $140M US contingent workforce program so the expansion to Europe with her current program has been exciting. In addition to the contingent workforce responsibilities, Tammy is responsible for Human Resources activities for IT Globally which allows for a more strategic approach to workforce planning and balancing full time employees and flexible resources. Tammy has a Communications degree from the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers!) and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Outside of work, Tammy is the Board Chair for Boy with a Ball Atlanta, a non-profit that focuses on developing young leaders to re-energize disadvantaged communities.

Aaron is currently working as the Director of Technical Product for Cigna / Express Scripts building complex massive scale data / API solutions that will be utilized by the entire company both internally and externally. Aaron is an infinite learner, avid reader, podcast listener, and course taker. He has been both an entrepreneur and intrapreneur and enjoys building new technology solutions and solving challenging problems. He has had to hire multiple large teams in his career in both offshore and onshore environments and is always looking for new ways to find and hire talented engineers. As change seems to be happening faster and faster nowadays, Aaron is a believer that AI will change the future of sourcing talent and help increase both employer and employee happiness with better talent fits.
